Domestic Update: SPECIAL EDITION
We interrupt the old photos to bring you this special Domestic Update. In my continuing quest to become a Gentleman Farmer, I have achieved a major milestone in harvesting my first Ripe Tomatoes. I ask you, are they not lovely? Mrs. PJM will take part of the harvest to work tomorrow to try and sell at her underground farmer's market. How would you price such lovely, all natural, vine ripened, no pesticide beauties? Two for a dollar I say.

Hey, who gave me the thumbs down. Those are lovely tomatoes. Plus, I posted two old pictures today, so you got your old pictures.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I wonder why I even bother with this blog.
PJM
I bet it dat boy nate what gib you dat thumbs down.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a fellow underground tomato seller who does not like the competition? Or a potential customer who thinks the price is too high …
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that almost anyone, even a Mexican Bandit, could have done it... probably out of jealousy over the B.O.N. thing.
ReplyDeleteNice tomatoes, BTW.
Your price seems completly fair.
ReplyDeleteWho is your seed source?
Mab.,
ReplyDeleteI got the seeds from the company I got the greenhouse kit from . . . cropking.com. These are the seeds used by commercial growers, and they make pretty tomatoes and are heavy producers. They taste a little better than grocery store tomatoes. I am going to go to Gurneys or Johny's seeds and get some heirloom seeds trying to get a more intense flavor. I am not satisfied being a little better than grocery store quality.
thet was me thet gave yo a thoombs down an id does it agin. mah grandotter charity writes tme tellyng me all about this hyar Peejay feller. ah come check out his website on this hyar puter an mr. fancypants is writin about fashion, injuns, an bug free tomatos. dont knows whut she sees in thet fella.
ReplyDeleteThe PJM tomatoes look great. I'm thinking salsa and how tasty it would be.
ReplyDeleteBill,
ReplyDeleteMy dream has been to have a salsa garden where I grow all the ingredients. Right now I have the tomatoes, jalapenos, which are ready. I have raised beds with garlic and onions. The cilantro I will grow in the greenhouse, and I have the seeds and hope to plant this week.
PJM
The tomatoes look lovely. Have been away from the States for too long to comment on the price, but over here the similar looking yummy "ramato" tomatoes generally go for about E.2.50 a kg., which would be about $1.25 a pound. How 'bout cherry tomatoes?! So tasty!
ReplyDeleteStar,
ReplyDeleteI have some seeds for the little pear shaped yellow tomatoes. I am hoping they will be tasty. I also have seeds for the little green Mexican tomatoes that are in the husk. Can't wait to get those up.
PJM
Grampy ye shesh yo mouth. Dat boy a lot more interstin dan dat Bline Peaty dat zarelda bin sweet on.
ReplyDeleteYou bother with your blog because there are more out in blogland that like your posts than the (1) one particular person who didn't who is probably a very unhappy person and a coward to boot. That's why.
ReplyDeleteah taint no coward! ah tells it like it is. unlessen peejay starts larnin ta run, charity is shonuff gonna ketch him next sadie hawkins day.
ReplyDeleteLovely Tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteI think your tomatoes look lovely.
ReplyDeleteI would give that price is a heart beat. I love your blog so do not think about not being here. I look forward to this every day and it is usually the first think I do before I start work. This is Christmas week and I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas.

PS If Mrs PJ's business keeps getting bigger does this mean a second green house. How is chickie town and Handsome Jack in the palace?
I'm going to say $1.00 each. I guess it would depend on the size of them (no reference to size).
ReplyDeleteThey look almost good enough to eat
Nice. Are those Celebrity or Better Boy variety? Some of the people around here grow Roma for their salsas.
ReplyDeleteThe tomatoes are a hybrid called "Trust"
ReplyDeletePJM
