Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

I'd like to submit Sarah Bernhardt for today's mystery person.

ReplyDeleteGood job kbeetl.
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope that is one fashion statement that doesn't make a comeback.

Congratulations, kbeetl!
ReplyDeleteSuffragettes certainly had their own style, didn't they?
Just got of the beach. That was a
ReplyDeletequick contest. Well done kbeetl.

ReplyDeleteGood job. A quick contest, so PJM can go do other things today.
Instead of a portrait this picture reminds me of a Paparazzi shot - like it belongs in a 1920's US magazine or something.
ReplyDeleteThanks. The "ffrage" on the sign was a giveaway for the subject matter, and that eventually led to this at the Library of Congress web site.
ReplyDeleteYou don't see too many photos of someone moving from that era. Must have been a very bright day to get a short enough exposure.
