Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

Gosh, what a pretty girl! Could it be Harriet Beecher Stowe? (Pardon the spelling, please.)
ReplyDeleteShe's ............?
ReplyDeleteHint please !!
NO HINTS FOR YOU!
ReplyDeleteand no, it is not Harriet.
The game continues!
I'm guessing Mary Pickford.
ReplyDeleteDarn, we have a winner. Yes, it was Mary Pickford. She was a famous movie star in the early days of film, and I think the first woman to sign a Million dollar contract.
ReplyDeleteAnother quick game! We, your humble readers, are simply too good at cyber sleuthing.
ReplyDeleteWe missed you yesterday......
I am amazed that I have never stumped you all. These are not figures that are well known today, and they come from a variety of disciplines (art, science, government, military), yet there is always someone who figures it out.
ReplyDeleteArgh! I knew it and I was too late.
ReplyDeleteIs there time for a mystery person number two today?
ReplyDeleteOK, give me a second.
ReplyDeletePJM
As I started to click on your website I suddenly remembered -- oh, this is Mystery Person Day -- and it made me smile.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I needed that.
I knew it, but i was too late, too. Did anyone notice the beautiful sweater she's wearing?
ReplyDeleteIt would be in style today!!!
Ooh, I got on too late. I knew this one. Now you've stuck Civil War on here and you know that's my weakness. Must not sleep in on Saturdays. *L*
ReplyDeleteI really need to start getting up early enough on Satuurdays to play this game.
