Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

I wonder if a regular guy today could just build an airplane in his barnyard? A la the joke about Noah couldn't build the ark because of permits, EPA and OSHA prohibitions. We're not really allowed to take the leap of faith any more, are we?
ReplyDeleteNot sure where you are, Norkio, but yes, we can. And yes, we do. There are more airplanes built at home every year in the USA than there are in factories. Look up the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) or their annual event at Oskosh, Wisconsin. www.eaa.org or www. airventure.org should get you there! I personally know about ten people who are currently building an airplane, or have already competed one.
