Today, June 14, is flag day, which we celebrate with the above photograph. The picture was taken in 1942 during World War II. It shows a fighter on the deck of an aircraft carrier, with Old Glory flying in the foreground.

Stars and Stripes Forever. I was raised on this flag with 48 stars, one for each of the 48 states. I salute you, Grand Old Flag. I also salute the new flag, I have watched each new star go on it. Proud to be an American, I am!
